You were born
one part saint
one part warrior woman.
is the most important thing
you will ever have
to fight for.
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
For I have come to turn a woman against her father
A daughter against her mother
A daughter-in-law against her father-in-law.
A woman’s enemies will be the members of her own household.
Anyone who loves her father or mother more than me is not worthy of me.
Anyone who loves her son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Whoever does not take up her cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Whoever finds her life will lose it, and whoever loses her life for my sake will find it.”
–SexyJesus, Matthew 10:34
Today I tell my children I am not coming home from France, where I am starting a new beginning. It will be a religion of the heart.
We have no substantial women leaders in religion because mothers are afraid to leave their children.
These Mothers love so deeply that they sacrifice their own callings to satisfy and quench their children’s every desire, and their children desire much. The world desires much of women. And women have been so shattered and abused and disrespected, we no longer have much left to give.
But maybe this does not have to be.
The world needs us mothers. And the world needs me.
The world needs to understand that all has gone terribly wrong, and it’s time to make amends.
Let fathers be caretakers. Let them watch their children flourish as women rise up.
This world is desperate for sacred feminine energy—embodied, loving, and bold women who step into leadership at the right time.
And we cannot wait any longer. We cannot wait until there’s a woman president. We cannot wait until our children are grown. Our children need to see embodied, full, loving women so they know what women are capable of. This is the only way they will understand.
It is a hard action, to step away from one’s children and attempt to make the world new.
It is the hardest thing.
But we do this for the children, so that they will see. So that they can live, too. We do it for our daughters, so that they may grow up and renew the world. We do it for our sons, so they know how divine the sacred feminine energy can be.
How will anyone know the power of the feminine form if they never see it in action, lit up, breathtaking, vast, and whole?
If we do not rise up now, women will continue to be relegated to the constraints of the nuclear home, or to the offices with bosses who kill them.
We must be brave, strong, and true.
This is a fight for our lives, and for the lives of our children who come after us, so that they may be free.
